Harbor Architects LLC has an opening for a Licensed Architect to join our firm, starting in January 2026, to help lead work across a mix of residential, commercial, municipal, and educational projects. We are a small, collaborative practice where each team member has direct client contact and design influence, and where you can see projects through from concept to completion. This is an on‑site position based in our Aberdeen, Washington office. We do not offer remote work.
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited university
- Active U.S. architectural license (Washington preferred or eligible for reciprocity)
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience
- Strong understanding of construction methods and a healthy respect for the trades
- Working knowledge of CAD (Visual Cadd experience a plus) and Sketch Up
- Awareness of codes (ICodes, Washington State Energy Codes)
- Demonstrated experience coordinating consultants and managing Construction Administration (RFIs, submittals, site visits)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Collaborative mindset and self‑motivation
- Experience delivering public‑sector projects
- Ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget
- Familiarity with specification writing (Spec Link experience a plus)

Job DescriptionYou will lead small to mid‑sized projects and play a key role on larger ones, working directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and agencies. Typical responsibilities include programming and schematic design, code research, design development and construction documents, specifications coordination, bidding support, and construction administration. Every team member at Harbor Architects participates in multiple aspects of project delivery.
Typical Tasks- Prepare and coordinate drawings and specifications
- Manage redlines and ensure quality and consistency in documentation
- Coordinate consultants and permit submittals, and respond to agency comments
- Provide bidding support and handle construction administration tasks such as RFIs, submittals, and site observation
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, contractors, and colleagues
Harbor Architects LLC is a small woman‑owned architectural firm which has consistently and successfully demonstrated that it can deliver a wide variety of high‑quality projects. Our size coupled with our location necessitates that we take on a greatly varied mix of projects. Thus our experience spans residential remodels to new office buildings, from programming existing spaces to assisting in grant proposals.

Harbor Architects LLC provides full planning services, covering master planning, feasibility studies and programming, as well as full architectural services including schematic design and design development, construction document preparation, bidding and negotiating services and construction administration.
We offer a supportive and nurturing environment that is fast‑paced with multiple projects and deadlines.
Salary and BenefitsStarting salary range: $85,000 to $95,000 ann.
