The Design Engineering team at Hims & Hers brings together two complementary disciplines:
Design Systems, where we build and maintain unified design systems, component libraries, and tooling that ensure cohesive, accessible, and scalable brand experiences, and Innovation. On the innovation side, we craft expressive, high‑performance, and brand‑defining digital experiences that bring our story to life. We specialize in experiential marketing, storytelling, and moments of delight that differentiate our brand. Our work fuses creative direction with technical precision, marrying narrative and motion with code to create immersive experiences.

We’re seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead innovation‑driven experiences on our Product Design Team. You thrive at the intersection of design, engineering, and storytelling. Your role will be to concept, prototype, and deliver groundbreaking web experiences that go beyond standard UI patterns—building moments that resonate emotionally with our customers and reinforce our brand. You’ll collaborate directly with the Creative Technology Director along with designers, marketers, and engineers to bring narrative‑driven ideas to life, and you’ll be hands‑on in building performant, elegant, and memorable experiences.

• Build immersive, interactive, and highly polished experiences for the web that push the boundaries of design and engineering.
• Rapidly prototype concepts to explore interaction models, motion, and narrative storytelling.
• Partner with product design, brand design, and marketing teams to translate creative visions into interactive executions.
• Bring rigor and craft to motion design: animation, transitions, scroll‑based storytelling, and other dynamic elements.
• Ensure projects are performant, accessible, and resilient across platforms and devices.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies, frameworks, and approaches to interactive storytelling.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to bridge innovation with scalable implementation.
• Own end-to-end execution of high‑visibility branded experiences.

• 6+ years of front‑end development or design engineering experience.
• Deep expertise with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Type Script.
• Proven ability to deliver interactive and narrative‑driven web experiences.
• Strong knowledge of motion design: CSS animations, WebGL, Three.js, Rive, etc.
• Familiarity with scroll‑based and immersive storytelling techniques.
• Understanding of design principles: typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.
• A strong portfolio showcasing innovative, brand‑defining experiences.
• Passion for combining design and engineering to craft emotionally resonant work.
  Experience with 3D or WebGL frameworks such as Three.js or Babylon.js. preferred.
• Experience collaborating with brand and marketing teams on campaign‑driven experiences preferred
• Strong prototyping skills with tools like Figma, Framer, or custom code preffered.
• Curiosity to explore emerging mediums and storytelling approaches preffered.
