Project Manager – Urban Planning and Design
Location: San Antonio, TX
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities- Collaborative Teammate:
Work as part of a cross‑office, cross‑discipline team creating designs and plans for neighborhoods, districts, and communities across Texas and the United States. - Project Management:
Lead teams and produce innovative planning solutions; build and maintain client relationships, prepare proposals, and participate in interviews. - Project Work:
Provide overarching direction to MIG staff and oversight of work products; manage internal and external sub‑consultants and client teams; develop and oversee scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; produce high‑quality planning documents; represent clients at public hearings and meetings; set standards for excellence, responsiveness, and accountability. - Project Types:
Citywide comprehensive plans, small area plans, neighborhood plans, downtown plans, housing strategies, parks and recreation system plans, inclusive community engagement, and use of online tools.
MIG works on projects nationwide; some travel, evening, and weekend work may be required for community engagement and site evaluations. A sustainable and healthy work‑life balance is encouraged, with excess hours offset when possible.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, landscape architecture, public policy, geography or related field (Master’s a plus).
- Relevant consulting experience in planning or related field and experience producing plan documents.
- Experience managing private‑sector projects: maintaining contract compliance, drafting scopes, budgets, schedules, working with clients and partners.
- Strong presentation skills, ability to lead meetings, and facilitate client and stakeholder engagements.
- Interest in the intersection of design, planning and equity; ability to build respectful, collaborative relationships with community members, organizations and partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; graphic/document development desirable.
- Required software proficiency:
Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS/Arc Pro, Adobe InDesign; plus Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and/or Sketch Up a plus. - Ability to participate in marketing and business development, develop proposals, and maintain client relationships.
- Willingness or ability to relocate to San Antonio; bilingual Spanish or other language is a plus.

Compensation is $35–45 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience. This is a full‑time, hourly position eligible for overtime pay.
