Landscape Management Consultant – Stephenson Halliday (RSK Group)
Job SummaryStephenson Halliday, part of RSK Group, seeks ambitious and driven Landscape Managers at various levels to join our growing team. These are full‑time, permanent roles, but we also consider part‑time candidates. The position offers opportunities across multiple locations, including offices in Hemel Hempstead, London, Tonbridge, Bristol, Bath, Exeter, and hybrid/remote working arrangements.
The successful candidate will assess landscapes, prepare management plans and strategies (including Biodiversity Net Gain), advise on designs, and provide solutions to site issues. You will work with a highly regarded, award‑winning landscape planning, design and management team with a track record of delivering services from National Significance Infrastructure Projects to local‑scale developments.
Key Responsibilities (All Levels)- Conduct and coordinate open space/green infrastructure strategies, site assessments, and audits.
- Advise on management and maintenance considerations for designs and proposals.
- Prepare and implement landscape and ecological management plans, incorporating Biodiversity Net Gain requirements.
- Prepare and implement invasive species management plans.
- Prepare and implement historic landscape/estate management plans.
- Advise on compliance with relevant policy, legislation, good practice and standards.
- Lead and innovate by guiding and mentoring staff, fostering continuous learning and technical expertise within the team.
- Collaborate with Landscape Planning, Design, Town & Mineral Planning, and EIA leads to expand the portfolio across sectors, nurture client relationships, manage resources, and deliver high‑quality work.
- Provide technical leadership within your specialty, set standards for methodologies, inspire the team, and uphold the highest quality standards.
- Experience in landscape management consultancy or onsite implementation (landscape clerk of works) across a range of projects: open space, parks & gardens, historic estates, and infrastructure (mines, property, renewable energy, transport).
- Excellent report‑writing skills.
- Valid driving licence.
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) – preferred.
- Postgraduate or master’s degree in a landscape‑related discipline – preferred.
- Availability to work away from home as required.
- £28,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience)
