Lead Systems Design Engineer

Lead Design Systems Engineer Belfast | Hybrid MCS Group is exclusively supporting an innovative Belfast technology company as they look to appoint a Lead Design Systems Engineer to their growing engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Frontend Engineer who enjoys creating high-quality user experiences and building the foundations that product teams rely on every day. You'll take ownership of a shared design system and component library used across multiple products, working closely with designers and engineers to ensure consistency, accessibility and exceptional implementation quality.

What you'll be doing:
* Building and maintaining reusable React and Type Script components
* Owning and evolving a company-wide design system
* Translating Storybook and Figma specifications into production-ready code
* Driving consistency across multiple products and engineering teams
* Implementing accessibility best practices and visual regression testing
* Managing component versioning and release processes
* Mentoring engineers and promoting frontend best practices

What we're looking for:

* Strong commercial experience with React and Type Script  
* Experience building or maintaining design systems and component libraries
* Strong understanding of Storybook and modern frontend development practices
* Experience working closely with designers and interpreting Figma designs
* Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills What's on offer:
