- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, Construction, CAD or another built environment discipline.
- A Full UK driving licence is required for this role and willingness to travel regularly across the estate.

We're looking for a CAD Technicians to join our Estate Strategy and Planning Team
, supporting the digital development of one of Northern Ireland's largest and most complex government estates.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in modernising estate information through the production of high-quality CAD drawings, BIM models, technical documentation and digital estate records. You'll help build the estate's first BIM models while supporting strategic planning, asset management and long-term investment decisions across a diverse property portfolio.
Working in a hybrid environment that combines office-based working, regular site visits and home working, you'll collaborate with Architects, Asset Managers, Surveyors and Project Teams to ensure accurate building information underpins future estate transformation.
As a CAD Technician, you'll help create and maintain the digital information that supports smarter estate planning and asset management by:
Digital Estate Information & BIM- Creating, updating and quality checking accurate 2D CAD drawings, measured surveys and record information.
- Developing and maintaining BIM models using Revit to support estate planning and future Digital Twin initiatives.
- Producing building layouts, site plans, area models and visualisations that support strategic planning.
- Ensuring all drawings, models and technical information comply with agreed CAD and BIM standards.
- Supporting the production of Estate Strategies, Master Plans, Area Plans and Local Asset Management Plans.
- Producing drawings and technical information for feasibility studies and project development.
- Assisting with Project Dossiers, Design Guides and Blueprint documentation.
- Preparing presentation material to support client and stakeholder engagement.
- Updating room layouts, space coding and building plans to maintain accurate estate records.
- Supporting spatial verification surveys and utilisation reviews.
- Maintaining asset information within CAFM systems and digital databases.
- Collecting, validating and managing building and asset information using Excel and site surveys.
- Carrying out site visits across the estate to validate layouts, building information and asset records.
- Working with surveyors and consultants to incorporate measured survey information into digital estate records.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of accurate record drawings.
- Working closely with Architects, Architectural Technologists, Asset Managers, Project Managers, Surveyors and Maintenance Teams.
- Providing drawings, technical information and data to support estate planning, maintenance and project delivery.
- Producing reports, visualisations and technical information for internal stakeholders.
- Sharing best practice and contributing to continuous improvement across the Estate Strategy and Planning Team.
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Essential- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, Construction, CAD or another built environment discipline.
- Proficiency using AutoCAD and confidence using Revit, or a willingness to develop BIM modelling skills.
- Experience producing and managing complex technical drawings.
- Good understanding of building construction and technical detailing.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the estate.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience developing BIM models using Revit.
- Experience working with measured surveys, point clouds or record information.
