Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Remote UX/UI Designer for Health App & Web

We are seeking a creative and user‑focused UX/UI Designer to lead the design of our web and mobile experiences.

Back Care is the UK’s national charity dedicated to improving spinal health and supporting everyone affected by back pain. Back pain is one of the world’s leading causes of disability. Around half of all adults experience it in any given month, and it is estimated that 80% of people will be affected during their lifetime.

In the UK alone, back pain accounts for over 12 million lost working days each year
, alongside significant pain, reduced mobility, and emotional strain. Its impact reaches into every part of daily life—work, family, independence, and overall wellbeing.

Back Care exists to change that. Through education, research, and advocacy, the charity works to reduce the burden of back pain and help people live healthier, more comfortable lives.

You could be part of that change—as a volunteer helping us by using your UX/UI skills to maximise the usability of our new App and Web based offerings by creating an intuitive and accessible experience for a wide audience which includes both those directly living with low back pain (LBP) and healthcare professionals alike. One of the publications you will be working on is our Handling of People—used in both emergency and non‑emergency healthcare settings.
