Architectural TechnicianLocation:
St AlbansSalary: £32,000 to £40,000
A well-established, design-driven architectural practice in St Albans is seeking an Architectural Technician to join its growing team. The studio is known for thoughtful, client-focused design and delivering technically precise projects. Working across all RIBA stages, the practice specialises in high-quality residential and mixed-use schemes. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a technician to take on meaningful responsibility in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Role
- Oversee the technical development of residential and mixed-use projects from planning through to completion
- Produce detailed drawing packages and comprehensive construction information
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects comply with regulatory and technical standards
- Support project delivery across all RIBA work stages
- Collaborate with senior team members to resolve construction details and technical challenges
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
- Experience in a UK architectural practice in a technical role
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and contemporary construction methods
- Proficient in AutoCAD; skills in Photoshop and InDesign are an advantage
- Experience contributing to large-scale residential projects
- Excellent organisational, communication, and coordination skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach to technical problem solving
