We are looking for a Freelance Design manager for our working on an MOJ FSI Fire Safety scheme. This is for a main contractor on a MOD fire improvements project, security clearance is not essential as contractor can put you through the clearance. This is a hybrid working position with 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities of the Freelance Design Manager:- Manage and coordinate the design process of fire safety.
- Ensure design information is delivered on time to meet programme requirements.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant fire safety legislations.
- Coordinate fire strategies, compartmentation plans and and passive/active fire protective systems.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, security standards, and buildability.
- Lead design team meetings and manage the flow of information between stakeholders.
- Work closely with site and commercial teams to resolve design issues and maintain project progress.
- Ensure design solutions meet MOD and secure facility requirements.
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction sector.
- Experience delivering secure government, defence, custodial, or highly regulated projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of design coordination and technical compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple consultants and maintain design programmes.
- Day rate - to be discussed with myself
- Weekly pay on a Friday
