Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Heritage Consultant to join our expanding Archaeology & Heritage team, delivering projects across a wide range of sectors including renewables, infrastructure, regeneration and development.
Our team operates across the UK and Europe from offices including Bristol, Cardiff, London, Southampton, Edinburgh, Exeter, Nottingham and Shrewsbury.
This role offers flexible, hybrid working, with a preference for Bristol, Cardiff, London or Southampton.
The Role You’ll play a key role in delivering and growing SLR’s heritage services, leading a portfolio of projects while supporting the development of our regional presence.
Leading and delivering a range of historic environment and heritage projects
Managing project programmes, budgets and client relationships
Providing expert advice on heritage constraints and opportunities to inform design and planning
Preparing high-quality heritage reports, including Desk-Based Assessments and ES chapters
Designing and managing archaeological investigations and mitigation strategies
Supporting business development, including proposals and client engagement
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes
You’ll work closely with colleagues across planning, environmental and engineering disciplines on complex and rewarding projects, with opportunities to contribute to the team’s strategic growth.

About You You’ll bring extensive experience delivering UK heritage or archaeological projects across a range of sectors, alongside a strong understanding of UK planning policy, heritage legislation and guidance.
Strong understanding of UK planning policy, heritage legislation and guidance
Proven project management and client-facing experience, including financial oversight
Experience preparing technical reports and managing desk-based and field investigationsA relevant heritage, archaeology or related degree (or equivalent experience)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearlyA proactive approach to business development and collaborative working
