About the Role

Our client, an innovative architectural studio located in Mossel Bay with a strong commitment to sustainability, is seeking a talented Architectural Designer to focus on sustainable housing projects. This role involves the conceptualization and detailed design of eco-friendly residential solutions that minimize environmental impact while maximizing occupant well-being and comfort. You will be responsible for integrating sustainable principles, materials, and technologies into the design process, from initial concept through to construction documentation.

• Design and develop architectural concepts for sustainable housing projects, adhering to environmental best practices.
• Research and specify sustainable building materials, energy-efficient systems, and water conservation strategies.
• Create detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications using BIM and CAD software.
• Collaborate with engineers and consultants to integrate sustainable systems effectively.
• Conduct life-cycle assessments and environmental impact studies for proposed designs.
• Stay current with advancements in sustainable design and green building technologies.

• Degree in Architecture or a related design field.
• Proven experience in sustainable design, with a portfolio demonstrating green building projects, particularly housing.
• Proficiency in Revit , AutoCAD, and relevant sustainability analysis tools (e.g., energy modeling software).
• Strong understanding of green building certifications (e.g., LEED, EDGE).
• Excellent conceptual design skills and the ability to communicate design ideas effectively.
