Senior Architect - Design Lead

About the Role

Our client, a leading architectural firm in Kimberley , is seeking an accomplished Senior Architect - Design Lead to spearhead design conceptualization and development across a range of significant projects. This hybrid position allows for strategic remote work combined with essential on-site client and project interactions. You will be responsible for leading design teams, ensuring innovative and functional architectural solutions, and maintaining the highest standards of design excellence.

This role demands a creative vision, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of architectural principles and construction practices.

• Lead the design process from conceptualization through to detailed documentation, ensuring innovative and aesthetically sound architectural solutions.
• Manage and mentor a team of architects and designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand their vision, present design proposals, and manage feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other consultants to ensure the seamless integration of architectural designs with structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Oversee the preparation of high-quality architectural drawings, renderings, and presentation materials.

• Professional Architect qualification and registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design, with significant experience in a leadership or design lead role.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex architectural projects.
• Expertise in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and rendering programs.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building technologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills.
