DJ FASHION LTD is a design studio focused on architecture and interiors for commercial clients. We plan and design workplaces, retail units, studios and small developments, helping owners make better use of space and create practical, well-presented environments for everyday operations. Our work runs from early layout ideas and sketches through to detailed drawings and information ready for fit-out and construction.
We give clear direction, coordinate with other project partners and keep design information straightforward so it is easy to build on site. Clients work with us when they want spaces that are efficient, compliant and cost aware, but still have character. Whether it is a single refurbishment or part of a wider property plan, DJ FASHION LTD provides steady design support that fits around existing teams and helps projects move smoothly from idea to completed space.
Job DescriptionYou'll lead design work on commercial interior projects, from early layouts through to build-ready information. Working from surveys, lease plans and client briefs, you'll shape concepts, space plans and interior schemes, then develop them into clear, coordinated drawing packs. You'll be a key design point of contact for clients and delivery teams, making sure our work is practical, well-presented and aligned with programme and budget.
Whatyou'll be doing
- Translate briefs, surveys and lease plans into test-fit layouts and clear space plans.
- Develop concepts for workplaces, studios, retail and hospitality spaces, including zoning, look and feel and key details.
- Prepare design information across stages, from concept presentations to detailed GA plans, RCPs, elevations and joinery details.
- Coordinate with project managers, M&E engineers, cost consultants and contractors so information lines up across disciplines.
- Review and mark up drawings from other team members and external parties, keeping everything consistent with the agreed design.
- Attend (remote) client and design meetings, present options and record decisions clearly.
- Support planning, landlord and building control submissions with appropriate design information.
- Help maintain and improve drawing standards, templates and libraries within the studio.
- Key project stages delivered to agreed deadlines with clear, tidy information and minimal rework.
- Positive feedback from clients on clarity of layouts, design direction and communication.
- Drawing packages are coordinated with M&E and contractor information, with few late stage clashes.
- Options and recommendations presented with clear pros/cons on cost, complexity and operational impact.
- Studio standards, templates and details improved or added based on lessons learned.
- Strong experience as an interior designer or architectural designer on commercial projects (workplace / retail / hospitality).
- Confident using CAD and/or BIM tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit or similar) for 2D plans and basic 3D where required.
- Solid understanding of how commercial fit-outs are built, including basic regs/compliance considerations.
- Able to explain design decisions clearly to non-designers in writing and in meetings.
- Portfolio that shows clear layouts, practical details and an eye for well-resolved interiors.
- Right to work in the UK, with willingness to travel occasionally for site and client visits.
- Experience taking projects through several stages, from test-fit to construction.
- Familiarity with UK workplace guidelines and landlord / CAT A / CAT B environments.
- Experience working with multi-site clients or roll-out programmes.
- Comfortable using basic visualisation tools or Adobe Suite to support presentations.
- Remote-first: work from anywhere in the UK, with planned site/client days as needed.
- Equipment: company laptop and core software licences; contribution towards home office set up.
- Leave: 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays (and your birthday off).
- Professional growth: role relevant training, CPD and support towards professional memberships.
- Travel: mileage/rail reimbursed for agreed site and client visits.
- Pension & wellbeing: workplace pension plus access to support resources.
Equal opportunities: we welcome applications from all backgrounds and can offer reasonable adjustments throughout the process.
