About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to join their dynamic team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This pivotal role involves translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and client requirements. You will be instrumental in the technical detailing and documentation phases of diverse architectural projects, from initial concept through to construction documentation.
The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to work autonomously within a virtual team environment, contributing to innovative and sustainable architectural solutions.
- Develop comprehensive technical drawings, construction documents, and specifications using CAD software and BIM tools.
- Collaborate remotely with architects, engineers, and clients to refine designs and resolve technical queries.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant national and local building codes, zoning laws, and sustainability standards .
- Conduct technical reviews of shop drawings and material submittals from contractors during the construction phase.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior architectural staff and project teams.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation and drawing registers.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architectural design and documentation, preferably in a remote setting .
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and BIM platforms (e.g., Revit).
- In-depth knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and South African building regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to work effectively in a virtual team.
