Urban Designer

Our client is seeking an innovative and collaborative Urban Designer to join their team in Randburg. This hybrid role focuses on shaping the physical environment of cities and communities, involving the design and planning of public spaces, streetscapes, and urban regeneration projects. You will work closely with architects, planners, and stakeholders to create sustainable, vibrant, and people-centered urban environments. • Develop urban design concepts and master plans for various scales of development projects.
• Create high-quality visualisations, including master plan diagrams, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Conduct site analysis, research, and stakeholder engagement to inform design strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, and engineers.
• Prepare reports and design guidelines for urban development proposals.
• Ensure design proposals are sensitive to context, sustainability, and community needs.

• A Master's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in urban design or related fields.
• Proficiency in design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Adobe Suite, GIS).
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, sustainability, and public realm design.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience working effectively in a hybrid team environment.
