Principal Product Designer - FTC

Position: Principal Product Designer - 12 month FTC
Location: Swanwick

Handle are currently partnering with a leading international auction house to appoint a Principal Product Designer to help shape the next generation of its digital client experience. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on product design with the leadership of a small team of three designers, helping modernise digital experiences for a premium global brand. The role Own end-to-end customer journeys across web and mobile, from discovery and registration through to bidding, payment and post-sale.

Lead, mentor and prioritise the work of a team of three designers. Set design direction while remaining hands-on with concepts, prototypes, interfaces and the evolution of the design system. Partner closely with Product, Engineering and commercial stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences. Use customer research, behavioural data and AI tools to improve products, accelerate design and explore new AI-enabled experiences.

Help improve collaboration and delivery across Design, Product and Engineering. About you Proven experience designing and delivering customer-facing digital products across web and mobile. A strong portfolio showcasing excellent UX/UI craft and end-to-end product thinking. Experience leading, mentoring or managing designers and prioritising multiple initiatives. Confident collaborating with Product and Engineering and influencing senior stakeholders. Comfortable using AI tools in your design workflow and curious about emerging technologies.

A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach, balancing design quality with commercial priorities and deadlines. Experience in luxury, marketplaces, e-commerce or transactional products would be advantageous, but isn't essential. The opportunity
