Job DescriptionAs a Senior Design Systems Designer at Perk, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Suitcase, Perk's comprehensive design system. This system supports over 25 designers and numerous engineers across both web and mobile platforms, aiming to deliver a complete, consumer-grade, and accessible product experience. Your primary responsibility will be to own the craft and visual direction of Suitcase, collaborating closely with front-end engineers, content designers, and product designers to ensure a high standard of design is the default.
Key responsibilities include setting the strategic direction for Suitcase with leadership, transforming this vision into a clear roadmap, and reporting on progress. You will also be responsible for the visual language, token architecture, and foundational elements of Suitcase, such as typography, colour, space, motion, and interaction states. Furthermore, you will design, document, and refine components with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring complete states, variants, platform coverage, and clear usage guidance.
Requirements- Strong product design experience, including significant time spent designing and scaling design systems for rapidly growing products on web and mobile.
- A deep understanding of typography, colour, layout, motion, and micro-interactions.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining token systems, encompassing naming, theming, documentation, and Figma-to-code workflows, along with working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Practical experience designing components that adhere to WCAG 2.2 AA standards, including considerations for keyboard and screen-reader behaviour.
- The ability to effectively communicate complex design decisions to non-designers and build adoption through persuasion.
- Visa / Skilled Worker (Tier
2) sponsorship is available, meaning applicants from outside the UK who require a work visa are welcome to apply and must meet the eligibility criteria for UK visa sponsorship.
- Opportunity to work with a global company trusted by over 12,000 businesses worldwide.
- Be part of a diverse and international team representing over 70 countries.
- An IRL-first approach to work, promoting strong team connectivity and creativity through 3 in-office days per week.
- AI-enabled tools for day-to-day work, enhancing efficiency and allowing focus on high-impact tasks.
- Relocation assistance available for certain roles, helping you transition to the UK.
- A culture that values curiosity, purpose, and mindset to unlock your full potential.
