Commercial Design Architect; Remote

Our client, a leading commercial real estate developer with a national presence, is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Design Architect to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role is perfect for an experienced architect who thrives in a remote-first environment and has a proven track record in designing a wide range of commercial properties, including retail, office, and mixed-use developments.

You will be instrumental in shaping the aesthetic and functional aspects of our client's portfolio, ensuring innovative and market-leading designs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly collaborative, and adept at managing projects from concept through to detailed documentation, all within a virtual setting.

• Lead the conceptual design and development of commercial architectural projects, ensuring alignment with client briefs and market trends.
• Produce high-quality architectural drawings, renderings, and presentations using advanced software.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and contractors in a virtual environment.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards relevant to commercial developments.
• Manage the design development and construction documentation phases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site analyses for potential commercial projects.
• Stay updated on commercial real estate trends, innovative materials, and construction technologies.
• Mentor and guide junior design staff remotely, fostering a culture of design excellence.
• Maintain clear and organized project files and documentation in a digital format.

• Professional qualification as an Architect, registered with SACAP.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience, with a significant focus on commercial architectural design.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful commercial projects.
• Expert proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and rendering tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design processes and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent understanding of commercial building typologies, construction methods, and financial feasibility.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, essential for a remote-first position.
