Project Architect - Mixed-Use Developments

Our client, a highly respected architectural practice known for its innovative approach to mixed-use developments, is seeking a talented and experienced Project Architect. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead significant projects from inception through to completion, based in our client's Centurion, Gauteng office. You will be responsible for overseeing all design and technical aspects of complex mixed-use projects, ensuring they meet client objectives, budgetary constraints, and design excellence standards.

• Lead the design and development process for mixed-use architectural projects.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Coordinate with engineers, urban planners, interior designers, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Oversee the tender process and provide contract administration services.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant building regulations, zoning laws, and sustainability standards.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and quality.
• Present design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior architects and architectural staff.
• Proactively identify and resolve design and construction challenges.

• A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• Professional registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
• A minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience, with a significant focus on managing mixed-use development projects.
• Proficiency in architectural design and documentation software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up).
• Strong understanding of project management principles and construction administration.
• Excellent knowledge of South African building codes and planning regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage client relationships.
• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• A portfolio showcasing successful and complex mixed-use projects is required.
• Experience in sustainable design practices is a significant advantage.
