Lead Remote Architectural Technologist

Our client, a rapidly expanding architectural practice known for its innovative use of technology and flexible working arrangements, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Remote Architectural Technologist . This role is pivotal in translating complex architectural designs into detailed technical drawings and construction documentation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate with a dispersed team of architects and designers to deliver high-quality project documentation for a variety of building typologies.

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, construction documents, and specifications using BIM software.
• Translate architectural designs into precise and comprehensive documentation packages for tender and construction.
• Collaborate closely with architects and project managers through virtual communication channels.
• Ensure all technical documentation adheres to relevant building codes, standards, and best practices.
• Conduct technical reviews and coordinate with consultants to resolve design and detailing issues.
• Manage project documentation workflows and ensure timely delivery of drawing sets.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior architectural technologists remotely.
• Maintain digital project files and ensure consistency across all documentation.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience as an Architectural Technologist, with a focus on technical documentation.
• Exceptional proficiency in Revit is mandatory; experience with AutoCAD and other relevant software is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills for virtual collaboration.
• Experience in quality control and ensuring technical accuracy in architectural drawings.
• Familiarity with South African building standards and regulations is beneficial.
