Project Architect; Healthcare Facilities

Our client, a leading architectural firm renowned for its specialization in healthcare design, is seeking an experienced Project Architect to manage and deliver complex healthcare facility projects in Pretoria , Gauteng . This role is crucial for designing and overseeing the construction of state-of-the-art medical environments that prioritize patient care, staff efficiency, and technological integration. • Lead the architectural design and development of healthcare facilities, from conceptualization to construction administration.
• Coordinate with clients, medical professionals, consultants, and contractors to define project requirements and ensure design integrity.
• Develop detailed design documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, and specifications, with a focus on healthcare standards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards in South Africa .
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct site visits and construction inspections to monitor progress and resolve any design or construction issues.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders through regular meetings and reporting.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in healthcare architecture.
• Mentor junior architects and support staff involved in healthcare projects.

• Professional Architect qualification (PrArch) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural practice, with a significant portion dedicated to healthcare projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing healthcare construction projects from start to finish.
• Thorough understanding of healthcare design principles, patient flow, infection control, and medical equipment integration.
• Proficiency in architectural design software (Revit mandatory, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Knowledge of relevant South African building regulations, SANS codes, and healthcare-specific standards.
• Strong project management, leadership, and client liaison skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating both remotely and in-office in Pretoria .
