Metric is looking for a licensed Project Manager to join our growing Landscape Architecture team in South Florida! In this role, you will manage landscape architecture projects from scope through construction, help win new work, and mentor the next generation of designers as we add designers to the team. This is a hybrid role that will report to either our Miami or Fort Lauderdale office three days per week. What You'll Do
- Manage projects independently, including client communication, schedules, budgets, and quality
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients and earn repeat work from them
- Support business development: write scope and fee proposals, contribute to RFQ/RFP responses, and take part in shortlists and interviews
- Build and maintain relationships with municipal, county, FDOT, and private-sector clients in South Florida
- Coordinate production needs with the Tampa-based design team and help with production on complex tasks
- Perform QA/QC reviews of plans and deliverables
- Seal and sign landscape architecture documents as the licensed professional of record
- Represent Metric at local industry events and help develop a recruiting connection with FIU
- Mentor junior staff and share best practices
- Lead construction administration services, including shop drawing and submittal review, RFI responses, site visits, field reports, punch lists, and substantial completion reviews
- Coordinate with Metric’s engineering, planning, and other design disciplines, as well as external architects and engineers, to deliver integrated projects and resolve conflicts between design elements
- Take ownership of project outcomes, including quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction, and keep the Director of Landscape Architecture informed of project status, risks, and issues
- Florida licensed Landscape Architect (PLA) in good standing
- 12+ years of landscape architecture experience, including at least 5 years managing projects and client relationships
- Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program
- Experience with public-sector work (parks, streetscapes, or roadway landscape)
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to clients
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land F/X, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of South Florida plant materials and familiarity with local municipality codes
- Demonstrated accountability and follow-through, with a record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Track record contributing to proposals or winning continuing services work
- Existing relationships with South Florida agencies or developers
- Be part of a collaborative, supportive team where your ideas are valued and your skills and ideas can shape process and influence growth.
- Work with established clients in a market where Metric's name is already well known.
- Take on a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects, offering variety, challenge, and opportunities to grow your technical and creative skills.
- Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, with two days a week working from home, while staying connected through a culture that prioritizes teamwork and communication.
- Join a firm recognized for delivering high-quality work and maintaining strong, trusted client relationships.
- Benefit from competitive pay and comprehensive benefits that reflect the expertise you bring to the team.
