Lead UI​/UX Designer

Our client, a prominent tech solutions provider, is seeking a talented and visionary Lead UI/UX Designer to spearhead their design initiatives from Cape Town, Western Cape
. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be at the forefront of creating intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces and experiences for our client's innovative digital products. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a strong portfolio showcasing complex problem-solving through design, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of digital interaction.

This role demands a leader who can guide a team, inspire creative excellence, and collaborate effectively with product managers and developers to bring digital visions to life.

• Lead the entire UI/UX design process, from user research and wire framing to high-fidelity prototyping and final visual design.
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and component libraries to ensure consistency across all digital products.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to define user requirements and translate them into functional and visually appealing interfaces.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional growth.
• Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, effectively communicating the value and impact of design solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and best practices, and advocate for their adoption.
• Champion user-centered design principles throughout the organization.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
• Extensive experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
• Proven ability to conduct user research, usability testing, and translate findings into actionable design improvements.
• Strong understanding of front-end development principles and constraints (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex design ideas clearly.
• A robust portfolio showcasing a variety of successful digital product designs and user experiences.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
