Remote Senior Urban Planning Architect - Development

Our client, a prominent consultancy focused on urban development and master planning, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Urban Planning Architect for a fully remote position. This role is critical in shaping the future of urban environments, focusing on strategic planning, policy development, and the design of integrated city districts. • Lead the development of urban master plans, strategic spatial frameworks, and city development strategies.
• Analyze urban data, demographic trends, and environmental factors to inform planning decisions.
• Collaborate with government agencies, developers, and community stakeholders to facilitate urban regeneration and development projects.
• Develop design guidelines, zoning regulations, and policy recommendations for sustainable urban growth.
• Prepare comprehensive urban design proposals, visualizations, and presentations for review and approval.
• Ensure that all urban planning initiatives align with principles of sustainability, resilience, and social equity.
• Manage project teams, consultants, and client relationships remotely.
• Stay abreast of global best practices in urban planning, architecture, and city design.
• Provide expert advice and strategic direction on complex urban development challenges.

• Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in urban planning, architectural design, or city development, with a significant focus on master planning.
• Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale urban development projects and master planning initiatives.
• Expertise in urban design principles, spatial analysis, and land use planning.
• Proficiency in GIS software, AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of urban policy, zoning laws, and development economics.
• Excellent remote communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead diverse teams in a virtual environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., South African Planning Institute) is advantageous.
