Retail Design Architect

About the Role Our client, a dynamic and innovative retail design consultancy, is seeking a creative and experienced Retail Design Architect to join their team in Polokwane, Limpopo . This role focuses on creating exceptional retail environments that enhance brand experience, drive customer engagement, and optimize store functionality. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing innovative store layouts, interior designs, and branding elements that align with client objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for aesthetics, a strong understanding of retail trends, and the ability to translate brand identities into compelling physical spaces. This is a Hybrid position, offering a blend of remote work flexibility and essential in-office collaboration, allowing for dynamic project engagement. You will work closely with marketing, branding, and operations teams to deliver unique retail experiences.

• Conceptualize and design innovative retail spaces, including store layouts, interiors, and fixtures.
• Develop detailed design documentation, including drawings, renderings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their brand vision, target audience, and business objectives.
• Ensure designs are functional, aesthetically appealing, and commercially effective.
• Source and specify materials, finishes, and furniture to achieve desired design outcomes.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project managers during the construction and fit-out phases.
• Stay current with retail design trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behavior.
• Present design concepts and proposals to clients effectively.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in retail design or commercial interior architecture.
• Proven portfolio showcasing successful retail design projects.
• Proficiency in architectural and design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, branding, and customer experience principles.
• Excellent creativity, spatial reasoning, and visual communication skills.
• Strong client-facing and presentation abilities.
• Experience in a hybrid work setting is beneficial.
