Aircraft Interior Designer

Our client, a specialized aviation consultancy firm, is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Aircraft Interior Designer to join their team based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
. This role will focus on conceptualizing and designing bespoke cabin interiors for a range of private and commercial aircraft. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and translate them into functional, aesthetically pleasing, and compliant interior designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing experience in luxury or high-end interior design, preferably within the aviation sector.

• Develop innovative and ergonomic interior design concepts for aircraft cabins.
• Create detailed design specifications, including layouts, materials, finishes, and furnishings.
• Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, preferences, and budgets.
• Prepare 3D renderings, mood boards, and material samples for client presentations.
• Ensure designs comply with aviation safety regulations, weight restrictions, and structural integrity.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and successful implementation.
• Select and source appropriate materials, finishes, and furniture that meet aesthetic and performance standards.
• Manage design revisions and coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in aircraft interior design.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure adherence to timelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design, with a focus on luxury residential, hospitality, or aviation interiors.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in space planning, material selection, and 3D visualization.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of ergonomics, human factors, and accessibility principles.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations related to cabin interiors is highly desirable.
• Excellent client management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Creative thinking and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Must be eligible to work as a contractor in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa
