Consultant Obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine

We are looking for a Consultant Obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine to join our team at Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust, Bristol.

The post holder will hold CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and sub‑specialty training in Maternal & Fetal Medicine or be within 6 months of this. They may have additional experience in other specialist areas to meet the needs of the department.

• Clinical management of patients under their care.
• Continuity of care in liaison with consultant colleagues.
• Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
• Partnership in a Clinical Audit Programme.
• Reside not more than 30 minutes travel from base hospital for on‑call purposes.

• MRCOG or equivalent.
• Full registration with the GMC.
• CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, entered on GMC Specialist Register at commencement.
• Sub‑speciality training in Maternal & Fetal Medicine.
• CESR applicants welcomed; CESR in place at interview.
• Experience in UK hospital systems and practice essential.

• Higher academic qualification (MD, MS).
• Experience in tertiary Fetal Medicine Centre and NICU.
• Experience of preterm birth prevention and preterm MDT care planning.
• Managing evidence of CME, audit projects, and contemporary NHS management issues.
• Teaching ability and research track record, publications.

• Reside within 30 minutes or ten miles from principal place of work.
• Home office work / residence status to provide work in UK.

Commences at the minimum band unless previous NHS service at same band. Progression to scale by annual increments.
