Job Summary and Responsibilities

CHI Health Clinic and Creighton University are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon with MIS training or experience to join our collegial academic team at CHI Health in Omaha, Nebraska.

This position would be shared between our Mercy Medical Center and Midlands Hospital, located approximately 10 miles of each other. The program allows for collegiality among the department of Surgery at CHI Health - Creighton University supporting the academic mission. Additionally, this position offers a Level III Trauma Medical Director Opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a commitment to student and resident education and passion for community based general surgery. Excellent laparoscopic and endoscopic skills are essential, as well as proficient in Robotic Surgery.

Candidates will be working in an academic and teaching environment educating Creighton University's surgical residents and medical students and conducting research in collaboration with scientists within Common Spirit and Creighton University School of Medicine. Academic appointments commensurate with experience will be awarded by Creighton University School of Medicine. Engagement in academic and didactic activities at Creighton University Medical Center are strongly encouraged.

Job Requirements
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery. Candidates must have completed or will soon complete training in General Surgery in an ACGME-accredited residency
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the states of Nebraska & Iowa
