Louisiana Licensed Physician Reviewer - Orthopedic Surgery-Spine

Overview

Dane Street is an Independent Review Organization and a national provider of Utilization Review services (among other offerings). We are expanding our physician panel, resulting in opportunities for non-traditional physician work and supplemental income. This is a telework opportunity for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule.

Our physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis. We are looking for the specialties listed below with active Louisiana License to address the medical necessity of treatment requests and, in appeals, the medical necessity of previously denied services.

• Evaluate medical necessity of treatment requests and, in appeals, medical necessity of previously denied services.
• Operate as an independent contractor (1099) with compensation on a per-case basis.
• Review cases with a focus on clinical decision-making while maintaining your active practice.
• Complete reviews in a timely manner, with the typical turnaround described below.
• Coordinate with Dane Street’s case flow, access our user-friendly work portal, and leverage available support for administrative tasks.
• Provide advisory-only opinions; no doctor/patient relationship is established and no treatment is rendered.

• Orthopedic Surgery - Spine Surgery (active Louisiana license)

• Typical turnaround time (TAT) is 1-5 business days depending on the level of review. Same-day cases are rare but possible. You will be kept apprised of required turnaround times and Dane Street coordinates administrative tasks to allow focus on clinical decision-making.
• Initial training and ongoing support are provided.
• Dane Street offers a streamlined case flow and a user-friendly work portal; we handle communication, organize medical records, support administrative processes, prep cases, and ensure timely determinations/reports.
• Medical records and treatment guidelines are provided in an easy, click-to-view format.
• For adverse determinations requiring peer-to-peer reviews, Dane Street coordinates provider availability.

• Current, unrestricted Louisiana Medical License
• Active Practice
• Board Certified

• Independent consultant role allows for schedule flexibility and predictable work hours. You choose services and case types, dictate volume, and conduct this work based on your scheduled availability.

• Training is provided, with an ongoing point of contact for questions about completing reviews.
