Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in Palliative Medicine Traverse City, MI We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Physician specializing in Palliative Medicine to provide critical inpatient, outpatient, and home-based hospice care in the scenic Traverse City area. Key Responsibilities:

Provide intermittent coverage from March 3 to May 4, 2026, with specific dates including March 3-9, March 17-23, March 31-April 6, April 14-20, and April 28-May 4. Oversee and participate in three services simultaneously: inpatient Palliative Medicine Consult Service, outpatient Palliative Medicine Clinic, and home-based Hospice Care. Manage an inpatient consult service with a census of 12-18 patients daily, working collaboratively with advanced practice providers.

Handle calls and pages with an average of 1 call/page between 7 PM - 7 AM and approximately 10 calls/pages during standard hours. Operate effectively within an EMR system using Cerner. Maintain high-quality, compassionate care across multiple settings.

Required Skills:

Medical MD or DO degree from an accredited institution. Valid medical license in the state of Michigan. Board certification or active eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Proven clinical experience in palliative and hospice care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage a diverse patient population with compassion and professionalism. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Nice to Have

Skills:

Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient palliative settings. Familiarity with Cerner EMR. Previous experience with home-based hospice care. Bilingual capabilities relevant to the community served. Preferred

Education and Experience:

Medical degree from an accredited program. Minimum of two years experience in palliative or hospice medicine. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Other Requirements:
Ability to work on a 24-hour, 7-on, 7-off schedule from Tuesday 8 AM to the following Tuesday 8 AM. Flexibility to cover intermittent dates as specified. Compliance with all licensure, certification, and travel reimbursement policies.
