Overnight Academic Emergency Radiologist

Montefiore Medical Center is the teaching hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The health system has grown over the past few years and provides hospital, outpatient and imaging services in New York City and the adjacent Westchester and Rockland counties.

The Montefiore Department of Radiology is seeking an A
-Certified/Eligible Radiologist to join the 6-member Emergency Radiology division. Candidates will work 122 shifts per year (equivalent to a one week on two weeks off schedule). The division has two radiologists on duty per overnight to cover the busy Montefiore Emergency Departments (Level II trauma centers) for 10 hours on weekdays and weekends. Attendings work with a night float resident and have 24/7 CT/US/MR tech coverage.

This is a remote position but those desiring to work on site with the resident(s) are welcome to do so. All necessary equipment for remote work is supplied.

The ideal candidate will be Emergency Radiology, Neuroradiology, or Body Radiology Fellowship trained and also be able to read the full spectrum of emergency studies including CT (body and neuro), ultrasound and radiographs. Neuro MRI is a plus. Unconventional exams performed in the ED are given preliminary reads and subsequently read by subspecialists the next day. There is no requirement to perform procedures or read nuclear medicine or mammography studies.

This position is available immediately but current fellows desiring a start date in July or August 2026 are welcome to apply. Also, applicants interested in doing this position part-time (ie doing 61 shifts per year) are welcome to apply.

In addition to a competitive salary of $500,000-$525,000, a generous productivity incentive plan offers increased opportunities for compensation for which new radiologists are eligible for from day one.
