Applications are invited for a full-time Senior Clinical Fellow in Nutrition and Intestinal Failure at University Hospital of Southampton (UHS). This is an exciting training post and opportunity to work within a thriving multidisciplinary nutrition team in a large Integrated Intestinal Failure centre, commissioned to provide Type 2 and 3 IF care to patients from a wide area of Southern England.

The post can be tailor made to your training needs but has a focus on inpatient and outpatient management of patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

We are looking to recruit to two posts: one on a 6‑month fixed term to start ASAP and another on a 12‑month fixed term starting in September.

This post can be tailored to suit an interested doctor prior to gastroenterology training, as an out‑of‑programme‑experience during training, or post‑CCT.

The UHS gastroenterology department is a large, busy, academic, tertiary referral centre for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Intestinal Failure, neuro‑gastroenterology and Complex Endoscopy. The Nutrition Team consists of specialist nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, 4 Consultant Gastroenterologists and 3 Intestinal Failure Surgeons.

• You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, involved in inpatient and outpatient care of patients requiring intravenous nutrition and hydration support including those with type 2 and 3 Intestinal Failure.
• The post offers a wealth of experience in complex tertiary gastroenterology.
• The opportunity to be involved in other subspecialties of gastroenterology, as determined by your interest.
• These could include neuro‑gastroenterology or endoscopy, for example.
