- Title: Physician - Ophthalmology (Remote)
- Engagement: Hourly contract (independent contractor)
- Rate: USD 82-287/hour
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Ophthalmologist to join our customer’s team as a remote AI Trainer. In this role, you will leverage your clinical expertise in ocular health to train and refine artificial intelligence systems. Your contributions will ensure that AI models accurately reflect real-world ophthalmology practices, diagnoses, and treatment workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive eye and visual system examinations, documenting and annotating findings for AI model development.
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, disorders, and injuries in adult patients, integrating findings into AI training datasets.
- Review AI outputs for accuracy and alignment with clinical standards, providing expert feedback to improve model reliability.
- Prescribe treatments and provide clinical insights that inform AI understanding of therapeutic decision‑making.
- Develop evidence‑based ophthalmologic workflows to guide AI training processes.
- Collaborate with technical teams to enhance AI model accuracy and optimize learning protocols.
- Contribute to training materials, documentation, and procedural guides to support ongoing AI initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
- Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology (excluding pediatric specialty).
- Proven experience performing comprehensive ocular exams, diagnosing eye diseases, and managing postoperative care.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.
- Ability to interpret complex ophthalmologic data and translate findings for technical teams.
- Commitment to clinical accuracy, quality assurance, and patient‑centered care.
- Proficiency with digital tools and remote collaboration platforms.
- Experience contributing to AI healthcare model development, annotation, or validation.
- Background in creating or implementing ophthalmologic procedures and clinical workflows.
- Advanced certifications or training in ocular pharmacology or specialized therapeutic areas.
