Job overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Radiologist to complement our established and experienced Radiology team.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue a subspecialist interest and to develop the service in partnership with the clinical teams. Most areas of interest can be accommodated but candidates with an interest in gastrointestinal radiology, cardiothoracic imaging, uro-radiology or head and neck imaging are particularly encouraged to apply. Duties of the post include participation in the general radiology out of hours service (currently 1:12), supported by overnight outsourcing (Nighthawk) from 8pm to 8am on weeknights and from 7pm to 10am re is no requirement to perform interventional procedures out of hours.
The post is tenable on a whole time (10 programmed activities) or part-time basis. Applicants unable to work full-time will be eligible for consideration for the post. Flexible job plans will be considered, including sessions at other centres to support research and expertise sharing opportunities.
Main duties of the jobProvision of general, acute (inc. on-call) and subspecialist radiology.
A standard fully specified Trust workstation (operating via a VPN connection) will be provided for home use to support home working and in sourcing.

Person specification QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING- Full GMC registration
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the interview
- Knowledge across the breadth of general radiology
- Competent in performing interventional procedures relevant to subspecialist interest
- Teaching skills/experience
- Experience across the breadth of general radiology
- Evidence of research or innovative service development
- Evidence of management and administration experience/training

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
It is the policy of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost for their DBS certificate. The method of payment for this is via salary deduction from your first month's pay on commencement with the Trust.

New Starters – Probationary Period
