About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Pathologist to join their advanced diagnostic and research laboratory in Nelspruit . This critical role involves performing complex histopathological analysis, contributing to diagnostic accuracy, and participating in research initiatives aimed at understanding disease mechanisms at the cellular level. You will work with a team of highly skilled medical professionals and researchers, utilizing state-of-the-art technology.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional diagnostic skills, a strong understanding of disease pathology, and a commitment to advancing patient care through accurate and insightful analysis.
- Perform comprehensive microscopic examination of tissue samples (biopsies, surgical resections) for diagnostic purposes.
- Provide accurate and timely pathological diagnoses, including consultative services for clinicians.
- Conduct research studies to investigate the pathology of various diseases, contributing to new diagnostic approaches.
- Perform and interpret special stains, immunohistochemistry, and molecular pathology tests.
- Mentor and train junior pathologists and pathology residents.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laboratory regulations and quality standards.
- Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) and completion of specialized training in Pathology .
- Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-residency experience in diagnostic surgical pathology.
- Expertise in a subspecialty area (e.g., oncology, neuropathology, dermatopathology) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques, including molecular diagnostics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for a role in Nelspruit .
