WWCC seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the  academic year. Opportunities exist at Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, and online. Positions are part-time/temporary with flexible hours, serving a diverse group of adult students in extended learning, dual-credit, workplace learning, outreach learning, and personal enrichment programs. General responsibilities include facilitating student learning, preparing and delivering course materials, providing timely feedback on assignments and exams, assigning final grades, and connecting students to campus resources.

Essential Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place
• Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment
• Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter
• Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions
• Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback
• Assign and submit grades based on evaluations and college policy
• Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS
• Post and be available for a minimum of one office hour per week
• Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum
• Review and recommend textbooks, materials, and technology
• Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; remote work requires residency in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX
• Bachelor's Degree in TESOL, Adult Education, Secondary Education, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field (substitution may be considered)
• Demonstrated proficiency teaching language development at pre-college or secondary level (two years minimum); experience as teaching assistant, adjunct, or community education instructor may count
• Demonstrated commitment to promote equitable access and achievement for diverse students

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in TESOL, Adult Education, Education, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field
• Knowledge of Career and College Readiness Standards for Adult Education
• Knowledge of multi-level classroom language acquisition environments
• Experience teaching at a community college or secondary level
• Experience using instructional technology to support learning (LMS, digital whiteboards, Zoom)
• Experience teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, blended, online)
• Experience engaging with diverse populations

Part-time instruction contingent on enrollment; located at WWCC campus. Must provide lawful work documentation within three days of employment and transcripts. WWCC participates in E-Verify and may require background checks. The college is tobacco-free. Direct deposit is required.
