Position Summary

This position provides leadership through the Student Life, Equity, and Engagement (SLEE) Division to advance student equity and belonging and is responsible for coordinating the planning, management, and supervision of staff, programs, budgets, and services offered through The Student Place for Action, Culture, and Empowerment (The SPACE). It also oversees select student equity programs, supports new students via orientation and bridge programs, collaborates across campus to implement initiatives that address institutional performance gaps, and advocates for equitable treatment of students.

This is a hybrid eligible position allowing 1-2 days a week of remote work after the training period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect.
  • Complete all required College training and maintain the skills necessary to perform essential functions as defined by the department.
  • Develop and assess equity initiatives using institutional data to identify gaps and implement interventions that improve outcomes for underserved student populations, including students with children.
  • Co‑lead planning and implementation of college‑wide events supporting new students; engage student organizations, classrooms, and campus groups to improve climate and advance social justice.
  • Co‑chair the Diversity Advocacy Team to develop initiatives supporting community members impacted by hate/bias.
  • Establish goals and operational plans for The SPACE aligned with college priorities; build, manage, and monitor budgets from varied funding sources.
  • Supervise full‑time and part‑time student staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery and coordinate backup support as needed.
  • Build relationships with students to foster engagement and growth; assess needs and refer appropriately using the College's CRM; provide individualized support to those impacted by hate/bias.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Communications, Sociology, Social Justice, Education, Social Work, or related field and 3 years of occupational experience, OR education with combined related occupational experience totaling 7 years. (Preferred: Occupational experience totaling 7 years in a related field.)
  • Preferred:
    Knowledge of student development, knowledge of social justice education, and capability to build and maintain student relationships.
