Description
The Campus Visits & Events Specialist will play a key role in developing and implementing student advocate visit opportunities that allow for Berea to showcase its unique educational model to members of our network across the Appalachian region and beyond. This individual will work closely with our Regional Network & Outreach Team to build visit experiences that fulfill the requests of student advocates and will also assist in the annual gatherings of our established advisory councils.
Additionally, they will collaborate with campus partners to build communication pathways that allow for streamlined scheduling of conversations with visitors and will coordinate personalized itineraries for all student advocate visitors.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement daily on-campus visit experiences for student advocates in collaboration with the Campus Visits Team and campus partners
- With the Campus Visits Team, plan and execute on-campus events for student advocates (advisory councils, teacher workshops, CBO summits, etc)
- Compile welcome materials for student advocate visits and provide timely updates on future print needs
- Provide off-campus event support for student advocate programming
- As part of on-campus visit, provide information to Student Advocates to encourage future student group visits
- Alongside Campus Visits & Events Coordinator, manage student schedules to allow for participation in student advocate visits.
- Collaborate with members of the Admissions Staff and key campus partners to ensure exceptional hospitality and service
- Utilize feedback from surveys and data from reports to measure effectiveness of student advocate visits
- Attend and support the execution of all on-campus prospective student events hosted by the Office of Admissions
- Deliver information sessions to student advocates as needed
- Support communications and encourage campus visits with premier pathway nominators
- Work closely with our team of Regional Admissions Managers to support their goals and objectives
- Serve on the Campus Visits Team, contributing to the team approach to daily tasks and projects, including mainline and front desk coverage as needed
- Complete administrative tasks, duties and responsibilities (e.g. expense reports, email) in a timely manner while maintaining quality customer service
- Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty and students.
What You'll Bring
- Education required to ensure success in this position:
Bachelor’s Degree, required
Experience required
- 3+ years customer, client, or hospitality service required
- Events planning or coordination experience preferred
- Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds preferred
- Work experience in higher education a plus

- Affinity for people (excited to engage with/serve advocates)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Capacity to engage information software systems
- Demonstrated initiative and follow-through of projects and tasks
License, certification, or registration necessary
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation

Physical requirements
- Sitting, standing, walking, periodically able to lift and carry 25 lbs
- Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
- Ability to travel independently by car and/or plane
Environmental conditions
- Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors, students, staff and faculty
- Occasional travel required for off campus events, meetings, conferences, etc.
- Some remote work and adjustable schedule allowed
