Job Summary: The Agr Ability and Tractor Safety Outreach Program Coordinator position is designed to provide outreach and support for programs that promote safety and health for Wisconsin farm businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the development and delivery of the Agr Ability of Wisconsin Project and the Youth Tractor and Machinery Safety Program by overseeing public awareness, updating marketing materials and websites, and presenting information at events.
- Provide customer service by communicating with consumers and professionals.
- Prepare annual reports and attend meetings in support of both programs.
- Work with the Program Manager to facilitate programmatic efforts, maintain strategic direction, build partnerships, and secure a diverse funding portfolio.
The minimum FTE will be 30 hours (75%) but can vary; actual FTE will be determined at hire.
Location: Statewide; the position is flexible and will be determined based on programmatic needs and candidate preferences.
Remote Work: This position may require occasional in‑person work onsite or at a designated campus location. Some work may be performed remotely (up to 2 days per policy). Remote work requires an approved Remote Work Agreement; candidates must provide high‑speed internet and a phone.
Travel: Employees must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in‑state travel. Compliance with UW‑Madison vehicle use authorization is required.

Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate plans, activities, and achievements to the Program Manager, partners, and stakeholders.
- Schedule and secure logistics and resources to support outreach programs.
- Identify opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development.
- Schedule day‑to‑day activities for program staff, student and community volunteers.
- Promote and maintain internal and external partnerships.
- Direct implementation of program policies and procedures.
Department: UW‑Madison’s Division of Extension, Agriculture Institute.
About the Institute: The UW‑Madison Division of Extension Agriculture Institute addresses emerging issues related to Wisconsin’s agriculture and horticulture systems.
Compensation: Minimum annual salary starting at $59,603, negotiable based on experience.

Required Qualifications- Three or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Ability to interpret, utilize, and apply evidence‑based information and research findings.
- Effective written and verbal communication across technologies.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Education or experience in farm/agriculture/tractor or machinery safety, occupational therapy, safety and health, agriculture or life sciences communication, agricultural education, marketing, biological systems engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills in a team setting.
- Experience building diverse, collaborative partnerships.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin or North Central US agriculture.
Required: Two‑year associate’s degree related to this position’s focus.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree related to this position’s focus.
