The School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh invites applications for a Lecturer in Software Engineering.

Develop an innovative independent research programme in Software Engineering; deliver teaching and project supervision; supervise research students; engage in management and administration of the School.

The School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh is one of the largest in Europe, with more than 120 academic staff and over 500 post‑doctoral researchers, research students and support staff. Informatics at Edinburgh is rated highest on Research Power in the most recent  School has strong links with industry, dedicated business incubator space, and well‑established enterprise and business development programmes.

The University has recently established the Bayes Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The School holds a Silver Athena SWAN award and is a Stonewall Scotland Diversity Champion.

This post is full‑time (35 hours per week) but we are open to part‑time, flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Salary: UE08 – £50,253 to £61,759 per annum.

• PhD or equivalent (such as extensive industry experience); established academic in Software Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in undertaking original research, including planning and delivery of projects
• Proven experience attracting research funding as an independent researcher
• Track record of first‑author or collaborative publications in high‑quality journals and international conferences (ICSE, FSE, ASE, ISSTA, CAV, PLDI, OOPSLA, TOSEM, TSE)
• Strong research and teaching skills, ability to devise and manage multiple teaching, learning, assessment and research activities
