Basic Function
Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. Qualified applicants may be contacted immediately if a need arises, without further advertising. Applications remain active for up to two years.

The district is seeking part-time adjunct instructors for Computer Information Systems, including courses such as A+ and Cyber Security. Responsibilities may include teaching at various campus sites, during day, evening, or weekend hours, large classes, distance learning, and employing multiple teaching methodologies.

Additional duties include student recruitment, curriculum development and revision, maintaining subject matter currency, and participating in professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Any bachelor's degree and two years of work experience, or
Any associate's degree and six years of work experience, or
Equivalent qualifications judged by the district. Applicants claiming equivalency must submit an application for equivalence with supporting documents.
Candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.

Knowledge & Abilities
Applicants should demonstrate broad knowledge in their discipline and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds, develop curriculum, participate in recruitment activities, communicate effectively, stay current in their subject area, assess student outcomes, and utilize technology.
