Basic Function
Kern Community College District is accepting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors on a continuous basis. Qualified applicants may be contacted immediately if a need arises. Applications remain active for up to two years.
The successful applicant will teach a range of Child Development and Education courses, possibly at various campus sites and using multiple teaching modalities, including online and in-person classes. Responsibilities include curriculum development, student recruitment, and participation in departmental activities.
Qualifications
Master's degree in child development, early childhood education, or related fields; or a Bachelor's degree with a Master's in social work, psychology, or related fields; or valid credential for teaching Child Development/EDUC in California community colleges; or equivalent qualifications. Bilingual/Spanish-speaking preferred.
Knowledge & Abilities
Effective teaching and communication skills, curriculum development, technological proficiency, and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.
