Position OverviewThis Adjunct faculty position teaches online English Composition credit courses for MDC Online.
What you will be doing- Facilitates student learning in online courses
- Manages online courses through the LMS (learning management system) and its tools
- Interacts with students online via discussion, chat, and emails at least three times a week
- Evaluates and advises students
- Provides feedback on the course to course developers
- Participates in departmental and College affairs
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in English or Linguistics; or Master’s in Fine Arts in Creative Writing; or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English/Creative Writing or a concentration of writing related courses from the above disciplines. In addition, for ENC
2300 and LIT
2480, six graduate hours in Oral Communications required. Check English Education to be sure they are not methodology courses. - Must have basic computer software and Internet skills
- Must be a Florida resident
- Must obtain MDC Online Certification by successfully completing specific online training provided by the College upon hiring
- Previous online teaching experience preferred
