Hourly Rate: £50.72 per direct teaching hour.
Schedule: This includes 2 or more of the following elements: teaching, preparation, and marking of the scheduled programme of work. A flat rate of £20.29 per direct teaching hour will be paid for completing one of these elements. The number of hours required and the days of the week may vary.
Role OverviewNTU Psychology is seeking Hourly Paid Lecturers to further meet the demands of student numbers in our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Hourly Paid Lecturers undertake a variety of support roles within NTU Psychology and are valued members of our teaching team.
You will be joining a very large, lively, diverse, collegiate, and ambitious group with an excellent reputation for its theoretically informed, impactful, and applied research and its teaching provision at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The typical role of an hourly paid lecturer in Psychology is to support teaching within the department focusing on delivering a positive learning experience for our students. The role involves supporting lecturers within class teaching and/or assessment marking (e.g., essays, lab reports, and exams). Hourly paid lecturers are usually deployed to support the delivery and assessment of undergraduate research methods (including psychometrics, experimental, and qualitative methods), and statistics (R‑studio).
Depending on experience, there may be opportunities to support specialist modules and MSc teaching.
- Deliver teaching and support learning activities in undergraduate and postgraduate psychology modules.
- Assist with assessment marking, moderation, and grading of written work and examinations.
- Prepare teaching materials and support resources.
- Engage in professional development opportunities as assigned by the department.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching quality and student learning outcomes.
- Relevant experience in psychology teaching or academic support.
- Excellent commitment to supporting students’ development at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Qualifications that demonstrate expertise in research methods, statistics, or related areas.
- Previous experience with online teaching and assessment is an advantage.
