About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with expertise in cognitive and biological Psychology to programme lead the BSc (Hons) Psychology due to be launched in September 2026. You will have the opportunity to support the success and future growth of the psychology provision, including the development and validation of postgraduate provisions.
Alongside this, the individual will:
- Aspire to ensure the continuous improvement of the student experience, teaching and learning excellence, and have a relationship with the relevant professional bodies to support curriculum endorsement and accreditation (British Psychological Society).
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience within cognitive and biological psychology.
- Contribute to Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) activities, including potential income generation, to support institutional output and impact plans and ensure the development of a research-informed curriculum.

About You
- You will have experience of teaching and supervising student research projects in higher education in the BPS core areas of cognitive and biological psychology. The ability to teach research methods would also be advantageous.
- You will have experience of conducting practical work in psychology labs, notably within cognitive and biological psychology.
- You will hold an undergraduate degree in psychology and have Graduate Basis for Chartered membership.
- You will hold a PhD in Psychology and will be HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist.
- You will have a higher education teaching qualification or professional recognition (e.g. FHEA/SFHEA or equivalent) or a commitment to complete one within one year.
- As an active researcher you will have experience of conducting applied research projects that lead to impactful outputs in cognitive and biological psychology.
- You will build private and public sector networks and work collaboratively to enhance the reputation of Hartpury University in higher education and occupational circles.
