SENCo; Maternity Cover

About the role

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Part‑time SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide maternity cover for a period of 3 days per week, with an optional 1 day of working from home to cover administration requirements.

The successful applicant will oversee the provision of support for students with special educational needs and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

• Conduct assessments and identify students with special educational needs.
• Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teaching staff and parents.
• Provide guidance and support to teaching staff on differentiating instruction and accommodating students' needs.
• Coordinate with external agencies and professionals to provide additional support services.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to special educational needs provision.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices in special educational needs support.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to keep them informed of their child's progress and support needs.

• SENCo qualification.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, or equivalent).
• Experience working with students with special educational needs.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements and best practices in special educational needs provision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
