WWCC seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the academic year. WWCC offers opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach courses at all campuses and online/remotely. Part-time/temporary adjunct positions offer flexible hours and support for a diverse student population. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis to build a standing pool used as scheduling needs dictate.
Note:
The current pool remains in effect until June 30, 2026. If selected for an interview, you will be contacted by the Dean or lead; otherwise your application remains in the pool.
WWCC is accepting applications for a part-time Cosmetology instructor to be part of a pool of professionals to teach various courses.
General ResponsibilitiesFaculty members provide access to relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities. General responsibilities include preparing and delivering course materials, providing timely feedback on assignments and exams, assigning final grades, and connecting students to campus resources and support services.
Essential Responsibilities- Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place
- Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment
- Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter
- Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions
- Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback
- Assign and submit grades based on evaluations and college policy
- Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS
- Post and be available during reasonable office hours
- Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum
- Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology
- Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. For remote work, must reside in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX. Must have a current Washington state cosmetology instructor license and be available to teach from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience teaching at a community college
- Experience using instructional technology (LMS, digital whiteboards, Zoom)
- Experience teaching/training in multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, blended, online)
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Instructional approach centered on students with culturally responsive teaching
- Willingness and ability to use technology to deliver information in various modalities
- Ability to use varied instructional approaches and collaborate with industry for recruitment and curriculum improvement
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and interdisciplinary work

Conditions/Terms of EmploymentPart-time instruction contingent on enrollment, located at the Walla Walla Campus. Documentation of work authorization and transcripts required. WWCC participates in E-Verify. Criminal history background check may be required. The college is tobacco-free. Direct deposit is required.
CompensationCompensation is contingent on enrollment and paid per contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. Details available on the WWCC Human Resources Page and Appendix C for the adjunct salary schedule.
