Method to assess remote work:
Monthly meetings, verbal and written feedback, project review of deliverables, timeliness of work and effectiveness of up-to-date and accurate notes, and record keeping.
- The graduate assistant will work on GIS projects contracted by Antioch’s Spatial Analysis Lab (ASAL).
- Projects may involve research of faculty, map making for local governments, trail maps and maps associated with Natural Resource inventories (50%).
- Additionally, teaching assistant duties would include supporting faculty teaching Introduction to GIS (50%).
- Strong foundational GIS and teaching skills are desired.
- Proficient in basic GIS skills (e.g., map making, data collection).
- Functional in Arc Pro. Desired skills include knowledge of QGIS and drone use.
- Desire to teach and patience with GIS problem solving as well as novice learners.
