Walla Walla Community College seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the  academic year. WWCC offers adjunct opportunities to teach courses at all campuses (Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center) as well as online/remotely. This is a part-time/temporary adjunct faculty position offering flexible hours to assist a diverse group of adult students.

Notes: The current pool remains in effect until June 30, 2026. If selected for an interview, you will be contacted directly by the Dean or lead; otherwise, your completed application will remain in the pool.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned classes at scheduled time and place
  • Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment
  • Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter
  • Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions
  • Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback
  • Assign and submit grades based on evaluations and college policy
  • Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS
  • Post and be available during reasonable office hours
  • Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology
  • Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment

Teaching and Related Responsibilities:
1st Year Instructor: two or three classes per quarter for three quarters with specific Fall/Winter/Spring offerings listed in the original posting. 2nd Year Instructor: two or three classes per quarter for three quarters with specific Fall/Winter/Spring offerings listed in the original posting. Course levels span 100 to 200 level AAS courses.

Competencies: Instructional competencies include student success strategies, outcomes-based learning, assessment, equity, inclusion, diversity, digital literacy, and commitment to ongoing professional growth.

Required Qualifications: Equivalent combination of education and experience; for remote work, must reside in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX.

  • Associate Degree in Culinary Arts; closely related credentialing may substitute at the discretion of the College
  • Demonstrated proficiency as an Executive Chef and/or college-level Culinary Arts teaching experience (minimum two years); teaching assistant or adjunct teaching may count toward requirement

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at a Community College; experience using technology and multiple modalities (face-to-face, online, hybrid, HyFlex); bilingual, especially English/Spanish.

Conditions/Terms of Employment: Part-time instruction contingent on enrollment, located at the Walla Walla Campus. Must provide documentation of legal work authorization and transcripts. WWCC participates in E-Verify; background check may be required. Tobacco-free institution. Direct deposit required.

Compensation: Ad adjunct salary is contingent on enrollment and paid per WWCC/Association contract; refer to Appendix C on the WWCC Human Resources page.
