Job Description

The remote Interventionist works with the “At‑Risk” student population to provide remediation to support academic goals and increase growth in these areas. Passionate Educators are needed at the Stride K12 partner school, Digital Academy of Florida (DAOF). The mission of DAOF is to provide an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience for students by incorporating school and community/family partnerships coupled with a rigorous curriculum along with a data‑driven and student‑centered instructional model. Student success will be measured by valid and reliable assessment data, parent and student satisfaction, and continued institutional growth within the academic community.

This is a full‑time remote position; ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week, is required. A professional home office without distraction during the workday (commonly 9‑5 or 8‑4) is required.

Certificates and Licenses

Florida 5‑Year Professional Elementary Teaching Certificate.
Must be in progress toward, or willing to immediately start working toward obtaining, a Reading and ESOL Endorsement if not already held.

Salary

Annual salary $47,500 plus opportunity to earn an annual bonus.

Essential Functions
  • Modifies and/or adapts the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state’s content standards to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborates with general education teachers to meet the goals of targeted students through individualized and small group sessions.
  • Educates parents on various instructional strategies.
  • Ensures implementation of the RTI instructional system to increase student achievement.
  • Oversees data collection and progress monitoring at every tier; uses data to help teachers plan whole and small group instruction; provides guidance to teachers on identifying and grouping students who need additional help.
  • Collects and maintains all RTI data (lists of eligible students, intervention plans).
  • Serves as a daily resource to school administrators, school leadership teams, and other stakeholders regarding RTI issues.
  • Collaborates with homeroom teachers, advisors, counselors, and additional district personnel to coordinate and track Tier 2 interventions.
  • Provides ongoing training and support to school/district staff regarding RTI and the implementation of RTI and data collection procedures.
  • Supports teachers in documenting student progress.
  • Works with the special education team to facilitate eligibility for special education.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Active state teaching license.
  • Ability to clear required background check.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions.
  • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers.
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
  • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with proposed age group.
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
  • Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick‑and‑mortar environment.
  • Experience with online learning platforms.
Work Environment
  • This position is virtual with some required travel for professional development and for testing.
